Our prime hunting grounds in western Zimbabwe are Kazuma Forest Area and Matetsi Safari Area , Unit 2 .
KAZUMA FOREST
Kazuma Camp and Forest Area can be reached by a 1 hour 30 minute drive or a 15 minute helicopter flight.
The hunting area , approx 55 000 acres , borders Kazuma Pan and Kazuma Pan National Park in the north , Matetsi Unit 2 in the south and Botswana to the west. This area varies slightly from Matetsi Safari Area in that its terrain is mostly flat and contains huge teak and false mopani forest areas on deep Kalahari Sand. This area is frequented by Elephant bulls and large herds of Buffalo which visit the solar and diesel pumped water holes. Annually it produces many great quality trophies especially Lion , Elephant , Leopard , Buffalo and Sable.
As for Kazuma the area is wild , remote, totally un-fenced and offers fair chase hunting in the real Africa to sport hunters.
Kazuma Camp
Nestled in a grove of False Mopane trees amongst a Teak Forest the camp is made up of 3" A-frame " thatched bungalows with bathrooms on suite , a central dining area , lounge and fire pit . The camp is run on solar power with a back up generator and the water is heated by wood boilers.
